William "Bill" E. Melendy

Lempster, NH: William (Bill) E. Melendy passed away on July 18, 2022 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH after a brief illness.  He was born on September 17, 1952 in Lebanon, NH to the late Etta (Pike) Stone and Raymond Melendy. 

Bill grew up in Milford and worked for Barretto Granite for many years.  He married Nancy Magoon and they moved to Newport, NH and then to Lempster where they have lived for more than 30 years.  Bill worked for Bond Auto Parts in Newport and most recently was working at the Goshen Transfer Station.  Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Family was everything to Bill.  He loved spending time with them and had affectionate nicknames for all the kids in the family.  He will be dearly missed.

Bill was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Butch Hudson, Judy Hudson, and Nancy Sullivan; mother in law, Mary Magoon; and brother in law, David Magoon, Jr.

Surviving family members include his loving wife of more than 40 years, Nancy (Magoon) Melendy of Goshen; son, Brian Melendy and his wife, Kathie; daughter, Tammy Melendy; grandchildren, Rebecca, Morgan, Sarah, Tasha, and Tyler; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Stafford and Shirley Curtis and her husband, Joe; brother, Tim Hudson and his wife, Laura Kriese; father in law, David Magoon, Sr.; sisters and brothers in law, Debra Currier and husband, Ed, Mike Sullivan, Cindy Parker, Randy and Wendy Magoon, Rhonda and Tim Hynes, Arthur and Karen Magoon, Mark and Karen Magoon, Wendy Magoon and Dale Ferland; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday July 26, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home in Newport.  A graveside service will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.
