Obituary

Newport, NH: William A. Commerdinger, Sr., known  affectionately as "Nippy",  passed away on April 19, 2023 at age 92 at the Jack Byrne Hospice Center in Lebanon, NH. He was born September 19, 1930 in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, NY.

Nippy lived a full and wonderful life. He spent many years on Long Island before moving to Sutton, NH in 1985, and spent the last 8 years living in Newport, NH. He was a Nascar Driver, loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, and worked for the State of NH as a plow driver for 10 years. Nippy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Nippy's favorite music was country and polka, which he played very loud. One of his favorite sayings was "Oh Cripe!".

He was predeceased by his wife, Alois (Schepp) Commerdinger; daughters, Judy Christiansen, and Dawn Sexton; and sons-in-law, David Hatchett, Chris Christiansen, and Richie Jones.

Surviving family includes his children, Noreen Hatchett of Newport, NH, Linda Jones of Beverly Hills, FL, Sandra Hatchett and her husband Tony of Rogersville, TN, and Buddy  Commerdinger and his wife Michelle Beck-Commerdinger of Holbrooke, NY; his son-in-law, Dwayne Sexton of Elizabethton, TN; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will hold a private celebration of life.
