Newport, NH: Wayne R. Morrill, 58, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2024 at his home in Newport. He was born on March 12, 1965 in Newport to the late Chleele and Elsie (Clement) Morrill.
Wayne lived in Newport his entire life. He was old school, stubborn, and blunt. If people went through the mud hole forward, he was the guy to do it backwards. He operated Morrill Auto with his Dad and then took over the business after his father died. He was a hard worker and a hell of a mechanic, building unstoppable 4-wheeling rigs that could conquer like no other. Wayne also worked at Crown Point Cabinetry for 10 years and Dartmouth Motors for 10 years. In his younger days, he would spend time at the Moose and Foresters and was part of a motorcycle club. He loved his 1968 Chevy. He enjoyed camping, working hard, and spending time with his family. He survived Covid and worked really hard with the support of his family to regain his health.
Wayne was a well-liked and well-respected man and business owner who will be missed by his family and his community. He loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents; sister, Carolyn Dashner; and recently by his loving wife of the past 11 years, Karen Morrill. Surviving family members include his daughter, Brittney Neily and her husband, Jacob of Canaan; son, Kyle Davis of Claremont; Karen’s children, Geoff and Lance Morrie; brother, Rick Morrill; niece, Michele Bates; nephew, Brett Dashner; grandchildren, Madison and Mckenzie Davis and Baylee, Haylee, and Colton Neily; and other extended family members.
Friends may call on the family on Thursday February 15, 2024 from 3 – 6 PM at Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH. A graveside service will be held on Friday at Noon at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport with a reception to follow.
