Jessica M. (Harrison) Putnam

Newport, NH - Jessica M. Putnam, 92, died on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity.  She was born on February 8, 1924 in Sunapee, NH to the late Wilfred and Evelyn (Reed) Harrison. 
 
 
 
Jessica attended school in Manchester and Sunapee, graduating from Sunapee High School in 1943.  She has lived in this area most of her life.  She is a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.  She worked for Dorr Woolen Mill as a spinner for 31 years, retiring in 1986.  She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and volunteered at the Newport Senior Center.  Jessica loved her lottery scratch tickets.
 
 
 
In 2009, Jessica was close to death at New London Hospital, being taken off life support and receiving last rights twice, but wasn't ready to go yet, and was back to normal and singing by 6 A.M. the next morning. 
 
 
 
Jessica is predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers, Robert, Wilfred and Roger Harrison and sisters, Marjorie Harrison and Gertrude Wirta and her half brother George Caguiat and half sister June Salomon. 
 
 
 
She is survived by a son, Walter Putnam of Deltona, FL, a daughter, Pamela Marden of Newport, NH, her half brother Fred Caguiat, 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Burrington, Kristen Ray and her husband Jason, Jonathan Hauge and his wife Jaclyn, Ryan and Tyler Putnam, 3 great-grandchildren, Ava and Sawyer Ray, and Margaux Hauge, beloved niece Marilyn Gobin and many other nieces and nephews. 
 
 
 
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Newport, NH with burial to follow in Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee, NH.
