Robert Charles Bessette

Newport, NH: Robert Charles Bessette, 62, died on December 5, 2016 at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH after a battle with cancer.  Robert was born on June 19, 1954 in Claremont to the late Robert F. and Dorothy M. (Buckman) Bessette.  He grew up on Florida and spent most of his life there before moving to Newport. 

Robert worked at Joy Manufacturing and Claremont Flock.  He was a carpenter, working at Universal Studios in Florida and several other places. He loved cars, car shows and riding his Harley.  He enjoyed fishing and playing guitar.  He was a generous and kind family man who left a good impression on everyone he met. 

He was predeceased by his parents.

Surviving family members include his significant other, Lorraine Ellison of Newport, son Robert Bessette of Hudson, FL, daughter, Candace Temple of Claremont, NH, significant daughter, Laureen Whitcomb and husband Richard of Newport, sisters, Patricia Berwick of Derry, NH, Shirley Day of Newport, and Corinne Coursey of Canaan, NH, granddaughter, Caitlyn Marshall and many friends.

Private family services will be held.

Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
