Newport, NH -- Faith (Dadman) Starcher, 94, of Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity died on Wednesday, May 10th, 2017. She was born in Danbury, CT on December 15th, 1922, the daughter of Ralph Dadman and Agnes (Sherman) Powers.
Faith moved frequently throughout her life, living in Connecticut, Vermont, and North Carolina before returning to New Hampshire in 1976. After marrying Cleveland Starcher in 1966, the two opened a Jam & Jelly business called Garland's Home Kitchen in Acworth, which they owned and operated from 1973 to 1978. She was a truck driver going across country and also did demolition work. Afterwards, Faith raised beef cattle on their farm. She was an active member of the Hope Fellowship Church in Newport, NH and was also a part of the Hillsboro Moose Family Center.
She was predeceased 34 years ago by her husband , Cleveland Daniel Starcher; her parents, son Dennis Whitney, her brothers, Robert Strickland and Daniel Strickland; and her sister, Caroline Dalton.
Faith is survived by her children, Christopher Starcher and his wife, Elaine of Goshen, NH, Wallace "Butch" Carter, Jr. and his wife, Janice of Washington, NH, and Ralph 'Jerry" Whitney and his wife, Carol of AZ; stepson, Ric Starcher and his wife, Carol of Jaffrey, NH; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Marshall Strickland and his wife, Audrey of Amherst, NH; a sister, Cynthia Bruss and her husband, Greg of Springfield, NH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Washington Center Cemetery in Washington, NH on Monday, May 15th, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.
