Hannelore E. (Lewandowski) Hubert

Newport, NH-Hannelore E. (Lewandowski) Hubert, 87, of Main Street, died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.
She was born in Memel, Lithuania the daughter of Otto and Charlotte (Pfeiffer) Lewandowski. 

She spent her early years on the Baltic Sea and emigrated to the US in 1953.  She and her late husband Tom Sr. owned several businesses on Long Island before moving to Newport, NH in 1972 where they owned and operated Hubert’s Clothing Store, retiring in 1985.  Mrs. Hubert spent many years wintering in Dunedin, FL. 

She attended and was active at the Church of the Good Shepherd.  She enjoyed gardening and senior aerobics.  Mrs. Hubert had a loving spirit and spending time with her family and grandchildren was the most important thing to her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas H. Hubert, Sr. in 1997 and her sister, Charlotte Naumann.

Members of her family surviving include five children, Rita Hubert of New Hyde Park, NY, Guenter and his wife, Kathy Hubert of Newport, NH, Heide Hubert-Menard and her husband, Alan Menard of Sunapee, NH, Tom and his wife, Stephanie Hubert of Newport, NH and Monika and her husband, Tung Nguyen of Nashua, NH; 17 grandchildren, 1 great grandson.

Friends may call at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Newport, NH on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 P.M.  A private graveside service will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Newport recreational center and Newport food pantry.
