From so long ago: I grew up in the house next to the Winter's family on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. Karl and I were in the same homeroom through high school, as it was done alphabetically. My parents both worked, and sometimes my brother and I (I think my sister was always off with her friends) and Karl and Rolf would get into it - water fights were popular. Oh boy, we got into trouble a couple of times. I remember loving to go to his house because Marion and Fred were such great, friendly people. I remember eating waffles there many times.

To think that Karl has died is so, so sad to me. Even though we were not in touch, he and his family were an important part of my young life, and I am so sorry he has died.

To Kathi and all his kids, and Paul, Rolf and Marion, I am sorry for your loss.
