Dear Debbie, Bob, Susan and Heather and Scott's son and the rest of your family,
I am so sad to hear of Scott's passing. I never will forget his happy smiling face and kind warm hugs whenever I would run into him. He truly was a wonderful gentleman in every sense of the word. I will never forget the Springfield Road Shenanigans we all had as children growing up. There was no better place to be in the neighbourhood then at the Bentley house. Always a fun loving place with an open door policy to anyone of us kids growing up.... Scott may you soar high with the angels because heaven has gained one in you! May you rest in peace my friend

On behalf of the Newport High School Class of 84 I would like to send our deepest sympathies to Scotts family. We are all in shock. Scott was one of those guys who always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. Please know that his name will be placed at the base of the class tree at the entrance to the football field with others we have lost and will be remembered fondly by his classmates. RIP my friend, until we meet again.

To all the family of Scott. My deepest condolences to you all. I've known him for along time and looked forward to seeing him when I went to Village Pizza to eat. He always had a smile and words of welcome. He would ask how my mom was doing and we would laugh a little about something. I will miss his presence being there from now on and have fond memories of him each time I go there. Scott's son should find some comfort in knowing that his dad was a great man and friend to so many. God bless you all and hold you close during this difficult time and may you find peace and happiness in knowing he'll be watching over you all until you meet again.

So sad to hear this news! We met Scott & Aiden through day care and Scott always went out of his way to say hello to "Pan" when ever he saw her. It will be hard to go into Village and not see his smiling face! Our thoughts are with the family and Aiden during this time!

Bentley family I am so sorry for your loss. Scott was a wonderful,friendly and kind man he will be missed by many. Aidan my heart hurts for you. I know the pain you are going through and what you will endure throughout thus whole tragedy. Just know your dad is watching over you daily and he is so proud of you and always will be. Talk to him when you feel you need to. He may not be there physically but he is spiritually.
